2011 is here and it is time to play some racquetball. There are several tournaments on the schedule coming up so you can tune up your game and get ready for the State Tournament that is coming up shortly in Little Rock.
The HSU shoot-out in Arkadelphia on January 22nd and the Duboise Electric Racquetball Classic in Ft Smith on Feb 18-20 should provide for some great competition and also some great fun with our racquetball friends.
The Oklahoma State Singles is the week-end before ours and it is open to any player from any state so if you want a last minute tune-up, you may want to catch that one also.
Our State Singles will be at the Little Rock Athletic Club the week-end of April 1st-3rd. Two years ago, we had very large numbers for only three courts, so if you can play on Friday, please sign up to do so. We do not want to turn anybody away, so we made some adjustments to the tournament format last year and had to eliminate 3rd place games and we had to shorten all the matches in order to get evreything played intime. We will do our best to not have to do all that again this year, but I cannot make any guarantees on that. Hope to see you all in Little Rock.
There is one rule change that I want ti make sure everyone is now aware of. In Doubles, you are now allowed to change the service order at any time during a gane during your match. You do not have to wait until the game is over to change the service order. Also, you do not need to tell the referee that you are changing order, so if we are using referees, you must really pay attention to who is serving.
